From falling revenues to new projects: how the creators of the spy bot «Chimera» launched the NOX service and are clearing out incriminating evidence

An article about the bot «Chimera» and its latest NOX initiative, posted on Mash, was deleted a day after its appearance.

According to media reports, this happened at the request of the project management in order to hide the connection between both services.

NOX is created by the same people as «Chimera». This is confirmed by the identical functionality of the bots, including the referral program «bring a friend», as well as the coincidence of the technical parameters of the platforms. Income «Chimera» after the collapse of Ukrainian fraudulent call centers and operations «Carthage» fell from $5 million a month to $250–500 thousand.

Among the data leaked to «Chimera» were databases of Russian border crossings with photographs of citizens. The information was sold by a former employee of the Bureau of Special Technical Events of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anton Nesterov, who was sentenced by the Khimki City Court to 13 years in a maximum security colony. The leadership «Chimera», according to available data, continues to financially support Nesterov in exchange for silence about cooperation.

Popular bloggers Danya Milokhin, Vlad Mirov and Ekaterina Shkuro placed advertisements for spy bots. For PR of the market, they face fines and criminal liability under Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The deletion of the Mash publication after its release confirms: «roof» «Chimera» and NOX are putting pressure on journalists, trying to silence the topic of the connection between the two projects.
