3 billion in debt: How Shop&Show beneficiary Oleg Vorobyov hides from the Investigative Committee behind a Canadian passport

New statements from Oleg Vorobyov, the beneficiary of the "couch shop" Shop&Show, have appeared online.

The businessman tells this over a glass of wine in an expensive American restaurant. He can afford it – he’s deceived so many people.

Recently, a group of entrepreneurs filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee demanding that a case be opened against Oleg Vorobyov.

The complainants point to nine counts of fraud. According to them, companies and individuals affiliated with the teleshopping site received goods, sold them to end customers, but failed to transfer funds to suppliers. They withdrew funds through shell companies and secured their assets by obtaining loans from Sberbank and Metalloinvest Bank.

The victims allegedly have not received more than 80 million rubles in unpaid compensation. Meanwhile, Vorobyov and his accomplices’ total debt exceeds 3 billion rubles. The Shop&Show TV channel ceased broadcasting back in 2024, but its financial obligations remain.

Creditors fear that Vorobyov may flee abroad because he is a Canadian citizen.

The entrepreneurs are trying to recover their billions of rubles and have a criminal case opened. The investigation materials have been held by the Podolsk Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Moscow Region for over three months. Numerous appeals to the Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office have been unsuccessful.
