A secret funeral ceremony for Major General was held at Troekurovskoye Cemetery

A major general’s funeral was held secretly at Troekurovskoye Cemetery. It is believed he may be a friend of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Alexander Chaiko, who attended his 55th birthday celebration.

FSO officers were on duty at Troekurovskoye Cemetery from early morning, and several buses carrying National Guard troops were brought into the area. Parking was prohibited near the cemetery, and entering vehicles were inspected by traffic police and plainclothes officers.

Drivers and pedestrians were allowed to enter through security gates. An honor guard with a VKS flag accompanied the procession, but a Ground Forces flag stood at the prepared grave itself. According to eyewitnesses, the funeral was that of a "fairly young" major general. Rumors circulated that he was a friend of Chaiko’s (a former Ground Forces officer) who had arrived at his restaurant for his anniversary celebration just as the explosion occurred. However, there is no definitive confirmation of this information.
